Dis-Chem Pharmacies has an opportunity available for a Security& Loss Prevention Manager who will lead the enterprise loss prevention function across retail operations, head office, and distribution environments, ensuring effective shrink reduction, fraud prevention, investigations, and protection of company assets through proactive risk management and operational controls.

Minimum Requirements…

Essential:

  • Degree or diploma in Security Management, Criminology, Risk Management, or related field or 3-5 years’ experience in loss prevention, investigations, or retail security roles.
  • Experience in retail, supply chain, or distribution centre security environments preferred.
  • Experience conducting investigations and managing operational risk initiatives

Responsibilities

Value delivery

  • Define and lead the loss prevention strategy aligned to shrink reduction, fraud prevention, operational risk mitigation, and enterprise security objectives.
  • Drive enterprise-wide initiatives focused on reducing theft, fraud, stock losses, and operational vulnerabilities across
  • stores, distribution centres, and support environments.
  • Analyse shrink trends, incident patterns, and operational risks to identify targeted intervention opportunities and preventative controls.
  • Oversee investigations into organised retail crime, internal theft, fraud, stock losses& high-risk operational incidents.
  • Support implementation and optimisation of loss prevention systems, controls, surveillance processes, and investigative methodologies.
  • Drive awareness and education initiatives to strengthen loss prevention capability and operational compliance across the business

Leadership and collaboration

  • Lead and develop Security & Loss Prevention Officers across the business.
  • Partner with Regional Security Managers, Retail Operations, Inventory, Finance, Supply Chain, and Store Leadership teams to address operational risks and shrink drivers.
  • Collaborate with external security providers, investigators, law enforcement agencies& regulatory bodies where required.
  • Support alignment between security operations, compliance& enterprise risk management initiatives.
  • Provide leadership insight into loss prevention performance, emerging threats, investigation outcomes, and operational vulnerabilities

Governance and risk

  • Ensure governance and compliance with enterprise security, investigation, and loss prevention frameworks.
  • Monitor and manage risks related to shrink, fraud, organised retail crime, internal theft& operational control weaknesses.
  • Ensure accurate documentation, reporting, evidence management& investigation tracking across all incidents& cases.
  • Conduct audits, inspections, and compliance reviews to assess effectiveness of operational controls and loss prevention measures.
  • Ensure integrity and effectiveness of loss prevention reporting, analytics, and investigative processes
